Product Compliance & Safety

What is the CPNP?

The CPNP (Cosmetic Products Notification Portal) is the official EU system where every cosmetic product must be registered before being sold. This ensures formulas, ingredients, and packaging meet strict EU safety standards.

What are ECOCERT & COSMOS?

ECOCERT is an international organisation that certifies organic and natural cosmetics.
COSMOS is a global standard that ensures ingredients, manufacturing, packaging, and labelling follow strict natural and organic guidelines.

TikiHugs products follow ECOCERT & COSMOS principles through our certified production partners.

Is the production facility certified?

Yes. Our manufacturing partners operate under ISO 22716:2007, the global GMP standard for cosmetics (quality, safety, hygiene, storage, and manufacturing control).

Are the products legally allowed in the EU/UK/US?

Yes. Formulas are compliant with Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 and can be legally sold in the EU, UK, and US.

Ingredients & Formula Information

Are the products COSMOS Natural or Organic?

Many of the formulas used in TikiHugs products follow the COSMOS Natural or COSMOS Organic standards, meaning they meet high requirements for natural composition and sustainability.

What percentage of the ingredients are natural or organic?

  • Natural formulas: at least 95% natural ingredients
  • Organic formulas:
    • 95% natural ingredients
    • 10% organic ingredients
    • 95% of plant-based ingredients must be organic

Exact percentages vary by product and are listed in each product description.

Are your products vegan?

Most TikiHugs skincare formulas are vegan.
A small number of hair or body care options may contain:

  • Honey (hydrating)
  • Keratin from ethically sourced sheep wool

Each product page clearly displays vegan status.

Are your products cruelty-free?

Yes. All products are cruelty-free, and no animal testing is performed at any stage.

Skin Suitability

Are your products suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin?

Many formulas are suitable for sensitive or blemish-prone skin.
Each product description includes specific skin-type recommendations.

Are the products suitable for kids?

We do not recommend using skincare on children under 12 years old, as young skin does not need active ingredients.

Can I use TikiHugs products during pregnancy?

Products are made with clean ingredients, but they are not specifically tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women. Always consult your healthcare provider and review the ingredient list.

Product Performance & Quality

What makes your formulas special?

TikiHugs focuses on a blend of:

  • natural active ingredients
  • science-driven formulation
  • ECOCERT/COSMOS principles
  • gentle but effective plant-based actives

The botanical extracts used come from regions known for high concentration of active compounds.

How are products tested?

All formulas undergo:

  • stability testing
  • microbiological safety testing
  • volunteer panel evaluations
  • compliance checks by qualified chemists
  • batch-by-batch quality control

What is the shelf life?

  • Most products: 2 years from production
  • When delivered: usually 12–24 months remaining
  • After opening: 3–24 months, depending on formula (PAO symbol on the label)

How should I store my products?

Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat, steam, or sunlight.
Avoid bathroom storage.
Always close lids tightly.

High heat or humidity may shorten product lifespan.

My product froze during shipping — is it safe?

Yes. Allow the product to return to room temperature for 24 hours.
It can then be used normally.

  • Gift sets containing SPF or Acne Spot Care

Exfoliators (Glycolic Acid vs. AHA Concentrate)

What is the difference between the two exfoliators?
